Petrol, diesel, LPG, self-charging hybrids, plug-in hybrids, electric... There are several options when choosing a car. Over the past few years, the industry has been constantly evolving and more environmentally friendly ways of getting around have emerged that do not compromise on comfort or vehicle power.
Electric cars are gaining momentum in the European market and more and more customers are coming to Tamarit with the need to recharge them. For this reason, Tamarit Beach Resort has been promoting their use and implementation for some years now: the campsite team already uses electric vehicles for some cleaning, maintenance and repair tasks, for example. All of Tamarit's caddies (which are typical golf carts) are electric and can be charged via conventional sockets. But now travellers also need a point where they can charge their car batteries.
That is why 2 charging stations with 2 sockets each have been installed, allowing up to 4 vehicles to charge their batteries at the same time. In fact, one of the stations has 2 supplementary Shucko type charging sockets (i.e. the standard European plug) to charge any type of electric vehicle (scooters, e-bikes, hoverboards...). The charging points are 22 KW and 32 A each; the 2 Shucko charging sockets offer 2.3 KW and 16 A. Depending on the size of the battery of each vehicle, the charging time will be longer or shorter, but it is always available for the customers of Tamarit Beach Resort and the Brisa restaurant.
It is not yet possible to make an equivalence between the KW of a battery and the litres of petrol, so the savings and the environmental benefit, although evident, are not yet transformed into clear numbers. What is clear is that Tamarit Beach Resort is clearly and firmly committed to the implementation of energy measures that reduce the impact on the environment and renewable energy systems. Because Tamarit and its surroundings are a unique place and we must all respect, care for and maintain it.
